Ce monument mégalithique est situé en bordure de la départementale D35 en direction de Verneusses. D'une hauteur de trois mètres, le menhir de la pierre aux boeufs possède sa propre légende: un chef anglais aurait été inhumé sous cette pierre. Il reste toujours un mystère entourant la fonction des menhirs, certaines hypothèses leur prètent une fonction commémorative, la figuration d'une divinité, le culte de la fécondité, d'autres évoquent des fonctions plus pratiques : marquer un point topographique précis (balise), mesurer l'écoulement du temps, ou encore repérer la position des astres.
